Dar es Salaam Yacht Club |
|
The Dar es Salaam Yacht Club was founded in 1933 on the waters’ edge in the Harbour by some keen sailing Members of the then Dar es Salaam Club (now the Forodhani Hotel on Kivukoni Front). From a purely sailing Club it acquired the Power Boat section and then the Diving Section which was originally a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. The Yacht Club remained in the harbour until 1967 when it moved to the present site of Leopard’s Cove in Msasani Bay. As a result of this move to the clean waters of the Bay, swimming became a desirable activity at the Club. |

Founded in 1941 the Grand Baie Yacht Club is located in the most beautiful bay of the north part of the island. It has an old tradition of welcoming foreign yachtmen. Pennant Nine Yacht Club |
|
1996 is the year that Pennant Nine celebrated 21 tears since its founding. On the 5th of March 1975 the members of Triton Sailing Club attended a special general meeting at which two resolutions were proposed and voted on. The resolutions were first to change the name from Triton to Pennant Nine Yacht Club and secondly to change the clubs headquarters from Deneysville to Vaalmarina. |
