For Webmasters: Embedding a Marinamap

You can embed a map of a geographical region and its marinas on your website easily.

Example: Map of the Western Baltic Sea

Each pin representing a marina can be opened by mouse click. It provides further information, for example a hyperlink of the marina's website.

Code

The HTML code for embedding a map is just one line.

By customizing the HTML code you can create maps for arbitrary regions, and you can alter the size of the map to make it fitting on your site.

  • The two parameters width="463" and w=463 are indicating the width of the map on your website. Maximum is 760 pixels, minimum 300.

  • The two parameters height="380" and h=380 are indicating the height of the map on your website. Maximum is 760 pixels, minimum 300.

  • With lat=54.7 you determine the geografical latitude of the map's center. You can indicate decimals. Latitudes in the southern hemisphere have to be indicated as a negative value.

  • With lat=11.8 you determine the geografical longitude of the map's center. You can indicate decimals. Longitudes in the western hemisphere have to be indicated as a negative value.

  • With l=en you determine that all data of marinas will, as far as possibe, be indicated in English. The following alternative languages can be indicated: l=de > German, l=es > Spanish, l=fr > French, l=pt > Portuguese, l=tr > Turkish.

  • With z=8 you determine the zoom factor. Notice that marinas only up to a distance of 200 nautical miles around the map's center can be displayed. Depending on the map's size the zoom factor should at least be 6 or 7.
